  2. “The Cement People” • Founded by the Bawri family that has deep socio-economic roots in the North East region since 1876. • Established first 300 tpd cement plant in 1989 at a little known place in Assam, largest private cement manufacturer during that time • Set up one more mini cement manufacturing unit in 1999 • Largest private investment in cement sector in Assam till date • Set up largest cement manufacturing unit (1.7 MTPA) in 2010 • Plan already in place to increase capacity to 10 MTPA in 3-5 years

Leading Cement Company of North East • Installed capacity of 1.72 million tons per annum built with state-of-the art German technology. • Largest private sector investment in the cement sector in Assam • First company in this region to attract private equity investment from highly reputed German and Dutch multi-lateral agencies. • The Government of Assam is a valued strategic investor in the company. • Strategically located on the East-West corridor, with railway facilities and its own river port.

Finer Word • One of the best ever rehabilitation package in North East / East India which includes creating a modern village for 70 displaced families & employment to improve their livelihood • Opened an Eye Hospital in Shillong offering cost-effective treatment to the needy • Opened many schools and educational institutions, the Primary School in Umrangshu being the latest. Also adopting schools in Lanka to provide quality education to the local community.
