CHRISTOPHER CANNON MA, CAS, SEPC Somatic Psychotherapist & Certified Addiction Specialist My journey into the world of mental health services has come through my own struggles with developmental trauma, addiction, and long-term depression. Such conditions have made me an avid researcher of the human mind and heart, and a passionate experimenter of the means by which we transform both. PRACTITIONERS DAN JEDYNAK SOMATIC PRACTITIONER I am deeply inspired by the richness of our inner worlds, and infinitely curious in their exploration. If the most vulnerable parts of ourselves could feel even 10% more care and compassion, we then might suddenly find that we are 10% more free to be ourselves.
WHY COUPLES COUNSELING? Relationships can be extremely challenging. After some time together, many of us begin to feel disconnected, questioning whether or not we should break up or get a divorce. Or maybe we check out, become emotionally unavailable, and feel less and less for each other. We can feel lonely in our relationship, and it hurts. Sometimes we may aim that hurt at our partner/s or vice versa. We find ourselves annoyed by many things they do. Or we cannot seem to have a serious conversation without fighting.
HOW CAN COUPLES COUNSELING HELP? • In our Couples Counseling Boulder, we draw heavily from the Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT) and from Dynamic Attachment Repatterning (DARe) to work with your ability to connect in a mindfulness-based way that includes your body. • In this type of therapy, you will: • Learn to listen to your own and your partner’s bodily signals • Locate your own and each other’s triggers • Learn ways to soothe yourself and your partner/s • Get to the root of disconnection • Deepen your ability to take in love and affection
