What do we look like? SAMHSA/CMHS Statewide Consumer Network Grantees Statewide Family Network Grantees Operated by PRI/PRA SCN TA Mental Health America (MHA) SFN TA National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI)
TA Coordinators • Each SCN grantee has a dedicated Technical Assistance (TA) Coordinator devoted to the organization’s day-to-day technical assistance needs • Your TA Coordinator from the FCN TAC is available to answer day-to-day questions, provide information and serve as your point person for all TA requests • Your TA Coordinator will regularly check-in with you to follow up on your organizations progress and make sure you have all the tools you need to stay on track
How Will You Access TA? • Take the Organizational Self Assessment (available on FCN TA Center’s website) • Call/e-mail FCN and make a request through your TA Coordinator • Access online resources through FCN main website and links to resources on MHA, NAMI and other websites
Organizational Self-Assessments • The purpose of this assessment is to provide a snapshot of your current needs related to the provision of TA. • Organizational Self-Assessments can be completed independently or with the assistance of your TA Coordinator.
Organizational Self-Assessments The responses you provide allow us to: • Offer individualized TA to your organization • Determine priority topics for TA across grantee organizations • Enhance strategic planning processes at both the grantee and program levels
Three Categories of TA • General TA • Routine TA • Intensive TA
General Technical Assistance “General TA” is technical assistance that is offered to all SCN grantees Examples of General TA include: • Webinars • Regional/topical meetings • Resources available on the FCN Center’s website • Monthly E-newsletter • SCN Annual Institute
Routine Technical Assistance “Routine TA” is the individualized technical assistance provided to grantees by their TA Coordinator on a regular basis Examples of Routine TA include: • Assistance with issues and challenges • Discussion and promotion of successes • Contact information for consultants or trainers • Where to locate resource materials • Information about upcoming events of the FCN TA Center
“Routine” vs. “Intensive” TA After completion of the Organizational Self Assessment, and in consultation with the SCN GPO and the FCN TA Center staff, it may be determined that a higher level and more resource-intensive form of TA is needed to serve your needs.
Intensive Technical Assistance • “Intensive TA” is individualized technical assistance that is much more “resource-intensive” than Routine TA • “Intensive TA” is primarily delivered by TA Center staff or consultants through a series of phone consultations and on-site face-to-face meetings • To access “Intensive TA”, grantees must consult with their TA Coordinator and are required to complete the Intensive TA Request Form available on the FCN Center’s website
