MC samples/selection cuts MC samples: • v12 fullsim samples, as used in CSC note 5 (full list in backups) • these samples generated at 14TeV -> reweight PDFs to 10TeV [as described: http://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=33528 (C. Gwenlan) ] Cuts:[two-/three-jet+MET analyses @ 10TeV, with 10pb-1] • look at “loose”, “medium” and “tight” phase space cuts (see below) • [as proposed by S. Caron: http://indico.cern.ch/conferenceDisplay.py?confId=38731] • [other cuts as in CSC note 5(for now; see backups for full list) ] MET>80 GeV in all cases Jets+MET at 10TeV with 10pb-1
Results (i): Meff 10TeV, 10pb-1 two-jet+MET [all cuts incl. J70_XE70 trigger] Jets+MET at 10TeV with 10pb-1

summary/future work in principle, light SUSY discoverable with 10pb-1 at 10TeV … IF enough statistics (and sufficient understadning of the detector!) to determine backgrounds to resonable precision Next steps: - background determinations - trigger studies Jets+MET at 10TeV with 10pb-1

Reminder: PDF reweighting • hadronic cross section given by: for a particular kinematic configuration with s, t, u, should just need to change the probability that incoming partons *had* that configuration i.e. just a PDF re-weight proton PDFs hard subprocess cross section Re-weight MC to 10 TeV using: pTJet,1,2 >150,100 GeV xi : x of parton i at 14TeV; x i’: x of parton i at 10TeV Jets+MET at 10TeV with 10pb-1
