Quick notes to get started… • Current enrollmentapproximately100+students • 5 sections / roughly 20 students per class, could expand to 6 • Room configuration is changing to allow all classrooms to be in close proximity. • Round-Up Teacher is not necessarily the teacher that your child will have next year. Classroom assignments will be mailed out in August. Kindergarten assessment information is taken into consideration to ensure balanced classrooms. • Pre-school conferences will be held on the first 3 days of school beginning on September 4. Kindergarten classes will start on September 7th.

MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION • Medication taken at school must be administered through the health office. • 2. When possible, it is preferred that medications be given at times outside of school hours. • 3. Students requiring medicine at school shall be identified by parent/guardian to the nurse, secretary, principal, or teacher. • 4. The Medication Physician Order and Parent Authorization Form must be completed by parent/guardian AND physician BEFORE any medications will be given in school. Non-aspirin analgesics (Tylenol, Ibuprofen) require only parent written permission. Authorization forms may be obtained from the office or school website. • (continued)
MEDICATION ADMINISTRATION (cont) 5. For the parent/guardian and all students’ protection, medication should be brought to school by an adult. 6. All prescription medication must be brought to school in the original prescription bottle. Over-the counter medication must be brought in the original, sealed container with the student’s name written on it. 7. All medication orders are effective for current school year only. 8. Medication will be kept in a locked cabinet in the health room. Students should not carry or keep any medication in their locker during the school day. Emergency Health Plans/504 If your child has a medical condition that needs specific intervention from staff, please notify the nurse to develop an emergency care plan. (Ex. Asthma, Allergy)
When Should My Child Stay Home? If a student has a fever of 100 degrees or more, the student should stay at home until twenty-four hours after the temperature has returned to normal (without the use of a fever-reducing medication.) • If a student has diarrhea or has vomited, the student should stay home until symptom free for twenty-four hours. • If a student has a rash that may be related to disease, or the cause is unknown, please see a doctor before sending the student to school. • If you are keeping your child home because they are ill, please call the school to report specific symptoms and/or diagnosis. • If your child has tested positive for strep, your child should stay home until twenty-four hours after the antibiotic treatment has started. Please notify the school nurse/office if your child has the following diseases or conditions. This includes, but is not limited to: • Chicken Pox • Head lice • Influenza • Conjunctivitis (Pink Eye) • Strep Throat • Pertussis (Whooping Cough) • Fifth Disease

What’s Next??? Tours – Tours will be given by your group number on your folder. Following the tour, we’ll reconvene in the cafeteria to turn in paper work. Please fill out your survey(in folder) and registration materials and help yourself to refreshments. Upon turning in your survey, you’ll receive a ticket for the drawing.
