BRIDGE School Partnerships BRIDGE supports: • studentsto develop intercultural understanding, language and communication skills • teachersto develop skills and capacities to lead Australia/Indonesia literacy innovation in schools • effectiveuse of technologies by teachers and students • people-to-people links that develop communities of friends and learners across borders.

  5. BRIDGE News • AusAID committed funds to support Australian teachers to visit Indonesian partner schools. Indonesia Study Program running in January to support this. • BRIDGE principal workshop held in Indonesia 2-3 October. • Australia-Korea Foundation committed funding to 2014 Australia-Korea BRIDGE Project. • Australia-Thailand Institute working with AEF to secure funds for 2014 Australia-Thailand BRIDGE Project. • New Federal Government, new opportunities.

BRIDGE Outcomes Students • Gained a broader perception of the world and their place in it. • Strengthened their intercultural understanding. • Increased confidence to communicate in second language. Teachers • Increased professional capacity in terms of use of ICT and innovative teaching practices. • Expanded teaching content to encompass intercultural understanding and respect for diversity. School • Increased understanding of culture, society and language (second) across the school community. • Drawn upon experience and expertise of of staff, students and parents who have engaged with partner country.
