  2. Before Video Games (1889-1974) Nintendo’s first step into gaming started when Hiroshi Yamauchi took over the company after the death of his grandfather. Hiroshi turned the company into a successful Japanese playing card company which sold hanafuda cards. After cards, Nintendo moved on to electronic toys. From there, Nintendo would later go on to sell video games.

A Video game revolution (1974 – Present) • Nintendo have released multiple video game consoles and handhelds since their start as a video game company. • NES • SNES & Game Boy • Nintendo 64 & Game Boy Color • Nintendo GameCube & Game Boy Advanced • Nintendo Wii & DS • Nintendo Wii U & 3DS *Handhelds and consoles are paired based on their release date.
