HONORS IN THE ACADEMIC PLAN • 3.5 GPA in Academic Plan • 3.2 GPA Overall Honors Membership is the highest recognition a business student can receive. Only 8 percent of students earn a lifetime membership.
FERPA • Family Education Rights and Privacy Act • Academic advisors are restricted from discussing a student’s grade or program with a third party, unless the student is present. • Staff cannot elaborate degree programs for specific individuals over the phone, even if the person on the phone is presumed to be the student. • Academic advising is not performed via e-mail.

What does “Restricted Access” mean? You have been admitted to the University of Central Florida, NOT to the College of Business. The College of Business is a “Restricted Access” college. To officially be admitted to the College of Business, students MUST complete all of the General Education Program Requirements, all Business Common Program Prerequisites, Gordon Rule Requirement, CLAST, and have an overall minimum 2.00 GPA or higher.

Maintain a Minimum 2.00 GPA Academic Probation Action taken when a student’s UCF GPA drops below 2.00. Academic Probation will continue until the UCF GPA reaches a 2.00 or better. Disqualification A student on academic probation is disqualified upon failure to achieve a minimum 2.00 GPA during the subsequent term. A student who is disqualified may not enroll at the University for two semesters following disqualification. Readmission after two semesters is not automatic. Disqualified students are required to complete the Florida AA degree and all of the College of Business prerequisites prior to petitioning for readmission. Graduation Requirement Students must finish with a minimum 2.00 UCF GPA, in addition to a minimum 2.00 GPA in all coursework attempted in the College of Business as well as all coursework attempted in the major.
Lack of Progress • Students who have below a 2.00 GPA in all major courses attempted or in all coursework attempted within the College of Business will be notified by the Undergraduate Student Services office and a registration hold will placed on their record. The hold will be removed once the student meets with an academic advisor.
Accounting Students must Maintain academic progress in the major Students in the Accounting major must maintain a 2.00 or higher GPA average in all 3000-4000 level Accounting or Tax courses taken at UCF. Failure to maintain the minimum 2.00 GPA will result in the student being placed on lack of progress in the major. If a student on lack of progress in the major fails to achieve a 2.00 GPA in Accounting or Tax courses in the subsequent term, s/he will be removed the Accounting major. Readmission is not automatic and must be petitioned through the Accounting department.
