  3. WORD FOR THE MONTH OF AUGUST • Isa 40:31 But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

TEXT: Isa 40:25 • Isa 40:25 "To whom then will you liken Me, Or to whom shall I be equal?" says the Holy One. • 26 Lift up your eyes on high, And see who has created these things, Who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, By the greatness of His might And the strength of His power; Not one is missing. • 27 Why do you say, O Jacob, And speak, O Israel: "My way is hidden from the LORD, And my just claim is passed over by my God"?

  5. TEXT: Isa 40:25 • 28 Have you not known? Have you not heard? The everlasting God, the LORD, The Creator of the ends of the earth, Neither faints nor is weary. His understanding is unsearchable. • 29 He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength. • 30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, • 31 But those who wait on the LORD Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint.

  6. INTRODUCTION We thank God for the Convention and for August the month of High Fliers. The text we read, summarized, made it very clear that God has the capability and he uses it to lift up those who wait on him. Det.4:15, Isa. 40:15, 18, Ps.104:1-5, Mat. 28:18, 1Ch 29:12 , Ps 62:11,Ps 65:6 Ps 93:4

  7. INTRODUCTION Last Sunday, we studied the characteristics of the eagle and why the bible refers so much to it. We also got deep understanding of what is meant by waiting on God. The following are the traits of those who wait on the Lord: They • Look for his salvation by giving themselves completely to his service : Isa 25:9 • Reverence him, fear him and keep his ways:Ps.37:34

INTRODUCTION • Seek him diligently, having absolute trust/hope in him: Isa.18:17 • Thirst for his word and are willing to be taught of him: Ps 25:5 • Are very prayerful: Ps 40:1 • Crave his mercy: Ps 123:2 • Keep their flesh under and look up to him for spiritual strength and courage: Ps 27:14

BENEFITS OF WAITING UPON HIM • THEY FAINT NOT: Isa.40:29, 2Co 4:1, 2Co 4:16, Ga 6:9, 2Ch 14:11 • HE GIVES POWER TO THEM: Acts 1:8, Ep.3:16, Col1 • :11, 2Co 13:4; Eph 1:19; 3:20 • HE INCREASES THEIR SPIRITUAL STRENGTH: Ex 15:2 2 Sa 22:33, Ps 28:8, Ps 46:1 ,Ps 73:26,Isa 40:31, Isa 41:10, • HE RENEWS THEIR YOUTH: Job13:26, 33:25, Ps.103:5 • HE RENEWS THEIR SPIRIT:Ps.51:10, Ez.36:26, Rom.12:2,Col 3:10 • HE MAKES THEM HIGH FLIERS: Da 11:32

  10. CONCLUSION • When we wait on the Lord, we are complete in him.
