? • What will happen after the expiration of the present restrictions ?
? • A new MFA? • GATT XIX safeguard actions including restrictions on a handful countries like China, India, Bangladesh, Vietnam and Brazil? • Free trade in textiles and garments?
! • Free trade as there is no point in restrictions against China or a few other countries. Restrictions does not work anymore.
What about the poorest countries? This is what I want • A successful DDA, which I do not believe in. (WTO is looking more and more like UN) • NAMA. Developed countries, industrial goods, 0 duties. The rest, industrial goods, max. 13 % duties. This takes 10 to 15 years. • In the meantime, EBA without exemptions for LDC:s by developed countries and Turkey, China, India, Thailand, Brazil and Mexico • GSP (and EBA) preferential rules of origin: One process. One stage. For example sewing. One. Just one!
