  1. Most Beautiful Churches in Montreal Montreal was founded in 1642 as the City of Mary, Ville Marie and has been named after Mount Royal-the triple-peaked hill in Montreal. Montreal is one of the most bilingual regions of Quebec and also the 2nd largest French-speaking city after Paris.   2. Saint Joseph’s Oratory at Mount Royal: Saint Joseph’s Oratory at Mount Royal is a Roman Catholic Church situated at 3800 Queen Mary Road, Mount Royal’s Westmount Summit, Montreal. It has been listed in the National Historic Site of Canada and is one of the largest churches with the largest dome structures in the world. This Church was founded in 1904 by – Saint Andre Bessette and brings to life the world and the contribution of thousands of workers. The Oratory is one of the highest buildings in Montreal and can be seen from different corners of the city.

The marble baptismal font of the church is surmounted by a stucco crucifix sculpted by Philippe Hebert.

This Anglican Gothic Revival Cathedral is the seat of the Anglican Diocese of Montreal nestled between Avenue Union and Boulevard Robert Bourassa. In 1999 it has been designated as the National Historic Site of Canada and a historical monument of Quebec in 1988.
