Term Life Insurance • No exclusions for war, dangerous occupations, hobbies, volunteer activities or sports • Less stringent medical underwriting requirements • $600k max coverage; dependent life coverage of $10k • Conversion from OGTI to IRM without evidence of insurability • Released members eligible to apply for IRM with proof of insurability
Long Term Disability Medically Released members are provided with: • Salary replacement of 75%*, less other relevant sources of income • Vocational Rehabilitation Program is available to help prepare you for gainful civilian employment if needed (enhancing education, skills, training, experience) • In most instances, LTD plan covers you 24/7, whether injured in the line of duty or not * for the 1st 2yrs, then must qualify as “totally disabled”
Financial Counselling • Providing personal money management assistance and education • Access to Canadian Forces Personnel Assistance Fund (CFPAF) loans and grants • Assist with access to Military Families Fund (MFF) • Referrals to professionals, local community service or other military resources • Assistance in resolving financial difficulties and improving quality of life • Strict case confidentiality
CFPAF Self Improvement Loan Program (SILP) • Loans of $1k - $5k for emergency/unforseen situations • Available to serving members only Minor Disbursement Program (Grants) • Up to $200 to relieve temporary distress • Serving members or released members (through VAC) Financial Distress Program (Grants & Loans) • Max $5k Grant & $25k Loan • Financial hardship due to sickness, accident, death • Serving members or released members
