  1. Tips and Checklist for Hiring Pool Builders If you have an idle backyard that needs a little aesthetic change, then a swimming pool would do the magic. However, you would need to hire the best pool builders who will help you to get the right return on your investment. To get the right contractors, though, you may consider the following tips. 1.Get proof of the builders' experience If you have more than one contractor, start by comparing their experience levels. You can ask for their portfolios, either in pictorial or video form, as proof of their past and current projects. Talking to their references would also prove that they are authentic in what they say they do. 2.Get in writing Before talking about a contract, make sure that the builders give it in writing. The contract should also include the quotation detailing all the work that they will do and how much you will pay. Not only would getting it in writing help you to avoid paying hidden charges, but it will also be a binding agreement between you two to prevent any breach of terms. 3.Talk about licensing and insurance The contractor or company that you engage should show proof of their licensing and insurance cover. As the law demands in your area, check and verify the licensing documents that they have before engaging them. Confirm that they have the necessary insurance policies, too, to make sure that you will not take any responsibility for issues arising from their services. Verifying the documentation should give you much-needed peace of mind. 4.Talk about the payments clearly One of the terms not to ignore when engaging a contractor is about the payments. You should talk about their payment plans and whether you will be okay with them. For instance, some

  2. require that you pay a down payment, while others may have different rules. Agreeing on this beforehand would help eliminate misunderstandings. 5.Check reviews and testimonials During the screening, go through each contractor's website, check their feedback section for their clients' reviews. Check from other review sites, too, like Google My Business, for other reviews and testimonials. 6.Ask for recommendations Lastly, if you cannot get enough options, ask for recommendations. Talk to people close to you for their referrals to the best pool builders they may know. Consider the suggestions, compare them, and use your best intuitions to choose the most promising one.
