Adverbs. What is an Adverb?. An adverb is a word that modifies or describes a verb, an adjective, or another adverb. A lot of adverbs end in - ly , but not ALL adverbs do. Adverbs answer the following questions: Where? When? How? How often? How long? To what extent? How much?.
