  2. Michael Faraday (1791-1867) • He was British physicist and chemist, best known for his discoveries of electromagnetic induction and of the laws of electrolysis.

  3. Michael faraday(1791-1867) • At age 13, he became an errand boy for a bookbinding shop in London. • He eventually became a chemist and physicist.

  4. His biggest breakthrough in electricity was his invention of the electric motor.

  5. He was born in 1791 to a poor family in London, Michael Faraday was extremely curious, questioning everything.

  6. He felt an urgent need to know more.

  7. He read every book that he bound, and decided that one day he would write a book of his own.

  8. He became interested in the concept of energy, specifically force.

  9. Because of his early reading and experiments with the idea of force, he was able to make important discoveries in electricity later in life.

  10. Ten years later, in 1831, he began his great series of experiments in which he discovered electromagnetic induction.

  11. These experiments form the basis of modern electromagnetic technology.

  12. Michael Faraday built two devices to produce what he called electromagnetic rotation: that is a continuous circular motion from the circular magnetic force around a wire.

  13. The END!
