Introduction Today, we’re sharing our Waterpark Summer Safety Tips to keep your guests and employees safe all summer long. Keep reading below to learn more! As waterslide manufacturers, there is nothing more exciting for the team at Splashtacular than waterpark season. But, with great excitement comes great responsibility and as waterslide manufacturers and waterpark owners, it is our job to keep our patrons safe.
Splashtacular’sWaterpark Summer Safety Tips 1. Post Rider Safety Instructions Clearly: As waterslide manufacturers, we always recommend posting rider safety requirements and instructions not just at the front or back of the line, but both. It is important that parents are able to read the instructions and any age/height requirements before letting their children join the line and again before they ride down.
2. Comply with All-State and Local Regulations Your state most likely has regulations and requirements that all waterparks must adhere to. Be sure to do so and always re-read the regulations at the beginning of each season as a refresher.
3. Place Safety Officers & First Aid Stations Throughout the Park Waterpark safety does not just refer to safety in the water, but safety throughout the entire park. On busy summer days it is easy for a child to become separated from their group or for someone to fall on a wet patch and hurt themselves. Safety officers and first aid stations should be positioned throughout your park to mitigate these risks.
4. Require Testing and Confirm Certifications Of course, as waterslide manufacturers and park owners, we want to trust people! But viewing a certification yourself isn’t enough. You must require testing for lifeguards and other safety based employees to ensure everyone knows what they claim to on their resume.
5. Offer Free Water Stations and Suggest Shoes in All Bathrooms Many parts of the country have been experiencing extreme heat waves this summer and rides alone aren’t enough to cool down. Stop dehydration before it happens by offering free water stations throughout your park. The tile floors in bathrooms and locker rooms can be a breeding ground for germs. Protect your guests and employees by suggesting that shoes are worn in bathrooms, locker rooms, and anywhere else there may be a tile floor.
6. Keep Your Gift Shops Well Stocked We know that guests are most excited about the cool swag they can get from your gift shop, but it’s likely that a few of them are bound to forget their sunscreen. Keep your gift shops stocked with any of the warm weather essentials they may need.
7. Provide Security for Staff as Well Your staff is at the park long after the last guests leave and it is important you keep them safe while they’re cleaning up and walking to their cars. Offer security and safety officers to not just your guests, but your staff after hours as well.
