PROUDWINNERSOFIISM FYBSMstudentMs.DhritiHatiwonagoldmedalintheFeatherweight Category (53-57 kg) at the Inter-Collegiate Taekwondo Tournament 2022-23.Despitethetissuetearinherleftknee,shedefeatedthree fellowopponents Followingherwin,DhritirepresentedtheUniversityofMumbai attheInter-ZonalTaekwondoWomen'sTournament 2022-23 andwonaSilverMedal.Wishingherallthebestforher futurematches. Ms.DHRITIHATI|FYBSM COLLIDE StudentsfromIISMparticipatedinCOLLIDEbyViralFission,aninter- collegefestspecificallygearedtowardsGenZandPan-Indian collegesfromTier1,Tier2andTier3cities.Studentsfromover150 colleges participated in this fest. The Contingent Leader was, Mr. AtharvaLoya. IISMranked5thontheLeaderBoardwiththeBox CricketTeamandtheStreetFootballGirlsTeamfinishingrunners- up. The Box Cricket Team was felicitated by the Mumbai Indians and waspresentedwiththeirmerchandiseandsowastheStreet FootballGirlsTeambyMumbaiFC.

3. GARBAEVENINGATCAMPUS In order to get into the festival spirits of Navratri, students organised a spectacular 'Garba Evening' at the campus. Since we have numerous outstation students studying at our institute, thestudentsdidn'twantthemtofeelleftoutofthecelebration. The students got together and taught the outstation students some signature Navratri dance moves.Thesemovesgotthemintothegroovesofthefestiveseasonleadingthemtohaveanice timeoncampus.Itwasaneveningfilledwithdance,music,memoriesandlaughter.

4. SPORTSQUIZ As a part of IISM's intra-college sports fest- JEET, which is a student initiative, a Sports Quiz was conducted at the campus by the Quizmaster; Mr. Milind Wagle. Mr. Wagle is a famous sports commentatorwithdecadesofexperienceinthesportsindustry. Thestudentswerecaughtoff-guardbyhisquestionspertainingtotheworldofsports,assomeof thequestionswerebrain-racking.ThewinnersofthefirstroundoftheSportsQuizweretheBulls 1andtheEagles1.However,roundtwowaswonbytheSharks2,thePanthers2andtheBulls2. ThePanthers2emergedasthewinnersinthefinalebyasubstantialmargin. Founder Director Mr. Nilesh Kulkarni who was also present for the Finale thanked Mr. Milind Wagleandpresentedhimwithamemento.

5. OUR STUDENTS VOLUNTEERING STUDENTSATTHE3RDT20BETWEENINDIA&SOUTHAFRICA The India & South Africa T20 Series was spectacular, to say the least. Team India won the series and the win will forever be etched in our memories. While everyone enjoyed the matches and prayedforourMeninBluetowinthematches,ourstudentsvolunteeredatthethirdT20matchin Indore. Thestudentsoverlooked numerousworks suchassupervising thevendorsand managed certain aspects such as managing thestadium,VVIPs,infrastructure,securities and CCTC operations. They did their duties exceedingly well and also were appreciated for theirworkas AssistantBranding ManagersandHeadsofthepost-matchpressconferences. Weencourageourstudentstotakeupsuchopportunitiesasitwillhelpthemunderstandthe effortsthatgetputintoorganisinganeventofsuchmagnitude. FounderDirectorMr.NileshKulkarniwhowasalsopresentfortheFinalethankedMr.Milind Wagleandpresentedhimwithamemento. STUDENTSATSKECHERSWALKATHON TheSkechersMumbaiWalkathon2022wasa glamorousevent wheremanyprominent celebrities came onto the stage and shared their thoughts about the event. To make the eventagrandsuccess,ourstudentsplayeda pivotalrole. Thestudentsworkedinnumerous departmentsunderthe3km,5kmand10km walkathoncategoriesandoutperformedtheexpectationsofthe organisers.Getting opportunities to work at events of such repute and on-field exposure from a young age helps themunderstandthemanagementaspectsofthesportingworld.

STUDENTSAT2022NATIONALGAMESOFINDIA Therecently concluded 2022National Games of India ended on a high note with Services winning 61 Gold, 35 Silver and 32 Bronze Medals andthis istheir 4th consecutivewin.Theyarethewinnersofthe Raja BhalindraSinghTrophy,whichis presented totheoverall champions. Maharashtra baggedthe IndianOlympic Association's Best State trophy for finishing second with the most gold medals among StatesandUnionTerritories. However,organisinganeventofsuchmagnitudeisnoordinaryfeatanditiswithgreatpridewe say that IISM students played a key role in organising and executing the National Games. IISM studentsworkedundertheGamesManagementSystem(GMS)andwithprofessionalsfromthe Games Technical Conduct Committee (GTCC), Accommodation, Catering and Transport (ACT) team,Accreditationteam,Grievance,Website,DigitalScoringandVolunteerManagement departments. SpecialthankstoSportsForAll(SFA)forgivingthestudentsthisincredibleopportunitytoworkat the2022NationalGamesofIndia. STUDENTSATROAD SAFETYWEEK The 2022 Road Safety World Series was the secondseason of the International T20 CricketLeague,featuringformer internationalcricketers toraiseawareness aboutroadsafety. Togiveourstudentsanunderstandingofthe workthatgoesbehindorganizinganeventof such enormity, IISM sent a few students to volunteer in the series. The tournament was heldacrossfourvenues;Kanpur,Indore, Dehradun and Raipur. The students were involved in the duties of Cricket Operations Manager andwerenoddedfortheirefforts. During the series, students learned about crisis management, venue operations and player management.Eventslikethesehelpthestudentsunderstandthepotentialofthesectorandthe opportunitiesthatawait.

StudentsatYUVAKABADDI MONSOONEDITION2022 The recently concluded second biggest sporting IP in kabaddi ‘Yuva Kabaddi Series Monsoon Edition’waswellreceivedbythepublic.Theleaguehad10teamsparticipatinginthe40-day-long tournamentanditwasaspectacularevent,tosaytheleast. To ensure the smooth functioning of the teams, nine students from IISM got appointed as the ‘TeamManagers’fornineteams. ThestudentstravelledtoRanchiandstayedwiththeirteamtilltheendoftheteam'sjourney.Our studentswerethedirectpointofcontactbetweentheplayers,coachesandorganisers.Theywere inconstanttouchwiththeplayersandcoachesandalsooverlookedtheteam’swarm-upandcool- down sessions. They prepared the players for the pre-match and post-match sessions and also madesuretheplayerswerewell-equipped. Students learnt the art and craft of managing a sports team - a role that is highly valued in professionalleagues.Thislearningwilldefinitelyhelpshapestudents'careersastheyembodythe necessaryskillstosetfootinthesportingsector.

8. MASTERCLASSSESSIONS Mr.NiteenShah Mr.NiteenShah,PromoterandMDofTotalSports&FitnesscametotheIISMcampus foraMasterClasssessiontoimparthiswisdomaboutthechanging dynamicsofthesportsretailindustry. DuringtheMasterClass,Mr.Shahexplained his journey of establishing Total Sports & Fitness and the challenges he faced during thistime.Thesportsretailindustryhasseen massive growth and Mr. Shah explained the keyrolesasportsmanagement professional playsintakingthisindustrytonewheights. Mr. Kyan Bharucha Mr.Kyan Bharuchais the Founder of Bayside Sports, a company specialising in organising cricket and football events and provides high-quality coachingforchildren. Mr. Bharucha started the Master Class by givingthestudentsabriefabouthiscompany andhowBaysideSportscatertothesporting needsofindividualsfromall agegroups.Mr.Bharuchatalkedabouthow hisvisionofgettingmoms anddadstoplay sportshelpedthemexpandtheirbusiness. Sinceitwasaninteractivesession,Mr.Bharuchaansweredthe questionsposedbythestudentsaboutthecareeraspects and growth onecanexpectinthesportsindustry.

9. MASTERCLASSSESSIONS Mr.TenzingNiyogi Mr.TenzingNiyogi,CEOofUltimateKho-Khovisitedthe campus for a Master Class Session. It was under the leadership of Mr.Niyogi that UltimateKho-Khocameintothelimelightand reached new heights just after its first season. Mr. Niyogi talked at length about the challengestheyfacedandtheeventsthat took the entire teambysurpriseafterthe UltimateKho-Khowassetin motion.Mr.Niyogiansweredthequestionsposedbythestudentswhich helped them clear their doubts about the hard work that goes behind organisinganeventofsuchmagnitude. Mr. VenkatramanPichuman TheFounderofYouTooCanRun,Mr.Venkatraman PichumaniconductedaMasterClassSession fortheTYBSMandMSM-2students.During theMaster Class, Mr.Pichumaniexplained whatis project management,thethingsa projectmanagershouldbeonthelookoutfor when organisingasports eventandhow crucialitisforbuddingsportsmanagement professionalstobewell-versedwiththeconceptofprojectmanagement.
