What can you do Preparing financial reports Interpret financial reports and suggest solutions to problems Formulation of business plans & financial forecast Tax services Control costs through cost accounting Assist in identifying and managing risks Advise on suitable business structures Investment & financial planning and advice in accordance with FSB requirements Training of Trainee Accountants Accounting Officer in terms of the CC Act BEE verifications for emerging micro enterprises with annual turnover less than R5m Acting as a Commissioner of Oaths

Academic Requirements A Bachelor’s Degree from a SAIPA accredited tertiary institution • B.Com • B.Tech • B.Compt Core Subjects • Financial Accounting III; • Taxation; • Corporate Law or Commercial Law I & II; • Auditing or Internal Control I & II ; • Management Accounting or Financial Management

  13. Practical Requirements • Three years’ supervised training at an ATC • Registered as learnership with FASSET • Documented & regularly updated in the institute’s official training logbook by the Trainee Accountant & ATC principal OR • Completed training programme administered by other accredited professional accountancy bodies OR • Six years of relevant experience in accordance with the Institute’s official training logbook, verified by current and/or previous employers

Professional Evaluation Professional Evaluation Exam • Ability to integrate academic knowledge with the practical skills required in an accountancy work environment PE Components • Accounting and Auditing • Corporate Law and Taxation • Strategic Management • Practice Management • Practical case study knowledge application PE written twice per year • May • November
