  1. The CWVYS Induction Programme: ‘A stepping stone to youth work’ Delivered in partnership with Adult Learning Wales

Story so far • Funded by Welsh Government in 2012 ‘A stepping Stone to youth work’ was developed by CWVYS to provide volunteers staff and trustees with the skills, knowledge and confidence to support youth work. • It is a series of accredited units. • In 2016 they were reviewed. • Available to CWVYS members – either via the ALW partnership or through your own funding streams.

  3. The units • 9 units • Available in English and Welsh • Workbooks to support the collection of evidence for assessment • Can be delivered 1:1, small groups, young leaders programme • One unit is from the Level 2 award in Youth Work Practice • Tutor guidance plans available

The 9 units • Organisation Induction • Roles, Responsibilities and Rights within a Voluntary Youth Work Setting • Principles, Philosophy and Practice of Youth Work • Equality and Diversity • Developing an Organisation’s Local Capacity to Meet Young People’s Needs • Promoting Young People’s Participation • Activity Planning in a Youth Work Setting • Youth Work Placement • Safeguarding in a Youth Work Setting – IMPORTED from the Level 2 Award in Youth Work Practice
