LA Geographic Response Plans Mission Statement: Mitigate harm to resources at risk due to releases of oil through the development, testing, and periodic update of tactical geographic response strategies, designed for implementation during an oil spill. LA Geographic Response Plans • Two Phase Approach: • Phase I: Sensitive Site Identification (SSI) • Formulate SSI process • Define SSI Priority Levels (A, B, C for 0-48hrs) • Conduct Workshops with Parish, State, Federal Stakeholders (Site and Priority) • Review and acceptance of SSI by stakeholders • Phase II: Tactical Protection Strategy (TPS) • Formulate TPS process • From SSI, apply GRP pre-oiling response strategies • Excluded post-oiling response strategies: • In-Situ Burning • Dispersants • Shoreline Cleanup • Open-Water Mechanical Recovery • Review and acceptance of GRP by stakeholders
