Annual Deadlines: Fall & Academic Year Study Abroad – Check Website Spring Study Abroad – Check Website All Applications are Submitted Online: http://www.iie.org/gilman For More Information, Email: Gilman@iie.org The Gilman Scholarship aims to diversify and expand participation in international study by awarding grants of up to $5,000 to undergraduate students who have been traditionally underrepresented in education abroad. Eligibility Criteria Selection Criteria • US Citizen • Undergraduate in good standing • Pell Grant Recipient at the time of application • Is applying to or has been accepted to a university approved, undergraduate credit-eligible program of study abroad • May study in any nation worldwide with the exception of Cuba and those nations currently under a US Department of State Travel Warning • Program must be a minimum of four weeks • Statement of Purpose • Follow-on Service Project • Academic Progress and Performance • Diversity of Participant (includes students of non-traditional age etc.) • Fields of Study • Country of Destination • US Institution and State Distribution (Community College Students are encouraged to apply) • Length of Study • Preference is given to students with no previous study abroad experience Sponsored by: US Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs Administered by: Institute of International Education – Houston
