SightFirst: Global Achievements • Raised US$415 million with two fundraising campaigns • Nearly 8 million cataract surgeries • Over 153 million treatments for river blindness • Built or expanded 593 eye hospitals/clinics/wards • Elimination of river blindness in Colombia now • Working on elimination of trachoma in China in 2017 We Care. Kansas Lions Statewide Children’s Low Vision Initiative (KanLovKids) • Low vision evaluations for children with low vision from birth – 21 years old • Establish ten regional low vision clinics • Doctors received similar equipment • Implement training with variety of stakeholders • Standardize follow-up protocol, data tracking and patient surveys • Public education & awareness campaign
