The Induction Year During the year, all NQTs should receive structured support from Induction tutors. This will include: • Regular meetings to monitor progress; (written half termly reviews are essential for secondary trained NQTs) • Lesson observations; • Training. For secondary trained NQTs, a school-based teaching period
The Induction Year As NQTs you should: • Reflect on and record evidence of your progress; • Take responsibility for your own professional development, but ensure you ask for help. • Register with GTC/IfL (A report on progress against the Induction standards is completed and sent to HCC at the end of each term)
The Induction Year Making the most of it…. • Support each other • Link up with ex-NQTs • Use the training opportunities provided • Beware the support that makes you feel even more exhausted! • Prioritise – you will not achieve everything • Year 2: Apply for Golden Hellos
