RAPPAMRapid Assessment and Prioritization of Protected Area Management Methodology
• adequate knowledge and data • most useful when comparing PAs with similar broad objectives
RAPPAMAnalyses You Can Do • Efektivitas pengelolaan • Tekanan dan Ancaman • Vulnerability • Prioritas Hayati • Prioritas Sosial Ekonomi • Trends and Outlook

RAPPAMWWF's Response • Help implement nationwide (or regional) assessments in at least 40 (priority) countries • So far, 12 completed, 2 underway, 4 in the next month, and around 15 other interested countries… • Coming soon: Bolivia, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Indonesia, PNG, Vietnam, Bulgaria, Cambodia...
• An assessment is not a panacea, but is a critical first step • Dukungan administratif, keuangan, dan kebijakan lebih lanjut sangat penting untuk peningkatan.
World Bank/WWF Tracking ToolA Site-Level Management Effectiveness Tracking Tool • Identifies progress on management effectiveness of WWF and World Bank PA Projects • Provides baseline data on Alliance PA portfolio • Identifies global trends and priorities for the development of tools and policies • Identifies key management issues in PA management and how to resolve issues • Assists reporting and accountability • Identifies appropriate follow-up
World Bank/WWF Tracking ToolA Site-Level Management Effectiveness Tracking Tool • Tool to collect data on WB / WWF Forest PA portfolio • Portfolio-wide • Quick, focused on sites • Relies on knowledge of WB / WWF staff and PA managers • Limitations • Small amount of quantifiable data • Should be backed up by more detailed assessment system • Scoring system should not be used for comparison between sites • Limited evaluation of outcomes
