  3. Holy, Holy, Holy. A passage from the Gospel according to Saint Luke (4:38-41), may his blessings be upon us all. Amen.

  4. Jesus left the synagogue and went to the home of Simon. Now Simon's mother-in-law was suffering from a high fever, and they asked Jesus to help her. So He bent over her and rebuked the fever, and it left her. She got up at once and began to wait on them. When the sun was setting, the people brought to Jesus all who had various kinds of sickness, and laying His hands on each one, He healed them. Moreover, demons came out of many people, shouting, ‘‘You are the Son of God!'' But He rebuked them and would not allow them to speak, because they knew • He was the Christ.

  11. Feast of Ascension • Yesterday we celebrated this feast. • Whose ascension did we celebrate? Christ!

  12. Feast of Ascension • Before Christ ascended, He showed Himself to all the believers. Who are the believers? Us! • He showed Himself to us in a special way during Holy 50, blessing us before ascending to heaven.

  13. Feast of Ascension • Did He ascend into heaven just to leave us? Or is He still with us in a mysterious way? • Did He forget about us when He ascended into heaven or does He keep us with Him in heaven? He is with us and we are with Him always!

  14. Feast of Ascension • Christ takes all the blessings of Resurrection and Holy 50 (even the ones we didn’t notice), and place them before the Father. • Before the Father, these blessings become established forever.

  15. Feast of Ascension • He takes us with Him to sit on the right hand of the Father. • Everything He has overcome, we also overcome through Him. • His power becomes our power.
