  1. Ethics Lauren Piazza Gregg DiFrancia Danny Cho Idelsy Rodriguez Jade Capeda Shawn Perkiss Mike SlodyskoColwin Edwards By: Team One in a Million

  2. #1 • Rex Ryan • Head Coach of the New York Jets for about 4 years • Full of pride • Believes his team is the best team in the NFL • Talks “trash” about other teams and promises championship wins year after year • Very loud and boisterous especially in the media

  3. I have a problem remembering the responses other people give to my questions, unless I'm really interested for selfish reasons (e.g. I'm interested in the other person as a potential date). How do I fix this? • I don't think of myself as self-centered. When I'm around other people, I generally try to ask them questions about themselves and to talk about topics that are of interest to others. I do enjoy talking about myself and my experiences, but I try not to monopolize conversations. • The thing is, I not infrequently forget how other people respond to the questions I ask, and this can be embarrassing. • Here's a recent example: "What did you do on your vacation?" I ask this as part of small talk and then somehow, just a few hours later, I find myself asking again. When the person starts answering, immediately it rings a bell and I realize I had actually heard the answer already. Then I feel like a jerk for having forgotten (and wonder if the other person thinks I'm a jerk, too). Another common example is asking where someone is from and then immediately forgetting...or forgetting that a friend told me he is sick with a cold.

  4. Judging from experience, I think if I were speaking with someone who was a romantic interest, I *would* remember. But even with very close friends, I'll forget things they tell me that I really should remember, like the example above of being sick. • I *want* to pay more attention to what people say to me, and to remember. I just don't know how to make myself pay more attention/not forget. This has started happening more and more frequently, and it is troubling me. (I'm in my mid-20s, so unfortunately I can't chalk this up to old age....) Any advice would be much appreciated! • Source: “http://ask.metafilter.com/90787/How-can-I-stop-being-selfcentered”

  6. #2 • Some of the most well known discriminatory groups are: • -Racist • -Sexist • -KKK • -One who is against another religion

  7. #2 continued • One major consequence for discrimination is, being convicted for being a racist and thrown in jail for a hate crime.  • Hate crimes are becoming more and more serious as our society grows. Due to the fact that many cultures are coexisting in this world, many people have their opinions on other ethnic groups, but when someone makes a comment about someones background and its offensive, it becomes a hate crime and a legal matter.

  8. #2 continued • There is truly no way to change someones attitude towards being discriminating, but the most known way to help these type of people is to convince them to keep their own opinions to themselves and not to judge specific people for who they are, or how they look, or where there families came from. • Way to go about fixing this issue in the future, is to have parents and older generations teach their kids and the younger generations on how we all coexist as human beings, and that judging someone based on their culture, color of their skin or beliefs is against the law and morally wrong.

  10. #3 • Danny Chen, American soldier • "illegal immigrant" • How to avoid commiting racial slurs?  •       We should be aware and careful of what we say around other people. •       Also use common sence. • How to avoid being racist? •       Educate ourselves on different cultures. •       Learn to listen to yourself and what you think is right. • What internal values should individuals have to overcome racist tendencies? •       A non-racist individual should value kindness to humanity.

  11. #3 continued • Story : Bartender Fired After Calling Blacks ‘Apes & ‘Animals’ on Her Facebook Page • In what way do you think can one avoid committing racial slurs? • In order to avoid racial slurs a person can just avoid being a racist. Everyone should be looked at the same way and just because certain judgments are made with certain races does not mean you have the right to look at the race on that way. A person can also be careful with their words and keep your comments to yourself and don’t publicize it. • How can one avoid being a racist? • A person can avoid being racist by simply thinking of others as equals and not discriminating others based on ethnicity.
