  2. Unit Plan District purchased curriculum was used as a starting place • Explored mechanical items/Engineering process Students designed sails Constructed windmill bases Tested Sail designs

  3. Entrance Event

  4. Finding Potential Sites in Tillamook County • Clair Thomas worked with us to find 4 locations the students could test the wind to see if they would be good locations for a wind turbine Cape Meares Fairgrounds

  5. Field Trip • Students learned that wind really does change on any given day. Scott’s class has extremely different wind readings than Kim and Courtney’s class

  6. Discussion of Variables & Presentations for PUD • How would the following effect PUD’s decision to put a Turbine in the sites we visited? • Public Reaction • Cost • Consistency of Wind • Practicality

  7. Presentations for PUD • The students were NERVOUS!  Presentations took place on February 22nd.
