Information Technology – HEAF Request • Higher Education Assistance Funds • Used for: • Land purchases, capital improvements and equipment • Not used for certain areas - Athletics, Auxiliaries, Housing • IT HEAF General Areas (amounts vary annually) • Computer Labs • Classrooms • Wireless • Switches • Servers • Computer replacements • Departmental IT Related HEAF • Let us know we can help • Hardware/Software • Due June 1st
Information Technology – Streaming and Closed Captioning • Policies • American Disabilities Act • Rehabilitation Act 504, 508 • 21 Century Comm & Video Act • FCC Mandates for CC online video • RFP Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 • Karasch and Associates • Hourly rate $105 • Live video must be live captioned • Board of Regents Meetings • Departmental Streaming of Events • Departments/Colleges will be responsible for cost of closed captioning of streamed events • If IT is requested to stream an event, an index to cover cost will be needed • Additional information will be coming out of audit and legal
Information Technology – Laptop Updates • Annual Laptop Updates • All departmental laptops need to be dropped off at IT for updates by Fall Semester • Essential that we get them in over the summer as we will be installing a new antivirus solution (Sophos). • Kaspersky will no longer be used • A Help Ticket will be created to document and track laptops • Will take from 1 to 2 days depending on volume, later in summer may take longer
Business Continuity Planning • Internal Audit has contracted with Myers and Staffer Spring/Summer 2019 • Information Technology has begun identifying critical IT applications • College and Department Survey will be sent out • Identification of critical systems • Restoration of system - downtime
Information Technology – SignNow • Digital Signatures • SignNow is used in a few areas on campus • Purchasing will begin using for approvals • Associated Costs • Business $8 per month • Business Premium $15 per month
