ALEPH Version 15 • In production, Summer 2002. Primary functional changes (detailed, 34 pages long) include: • Printing – XML/XSL • Depository enhancements • Web OPAC – Frameless only; search strings 2000 characters; permanent e-Shelf; normalization of headings improved. • Batch services through Windows modules, not web. • New Circulation client available (circ2).
ALEPH Version 15 • Circulation – in-house use statistics; transfer transactions to Accounts Receivable / Bursar. • Acquisitions – budget hierarchies; multi-order process; multi-level vendor records; multiple order units in department; object codes in budgets and invoices. • Cataloging – browse the web from 856 tag in cataloging; open sets of records. • Serials – move prediction patterns to holdings record allows multiple predictions per title. • Batch processes – batch delete of records; new export routines for union catalogs and utilities.
ALEPH Version 16 • In production Summer 2003. Major development highlights include: • New GUI clients for all modules • Task Manager (printing) removed; functionality available in all modules. • Administration module removed; functionality distributed among other modules. • Search module removed; functionality available in all other modules.
ALEPH Version 16 • Index building includes 3 major enhancements: • Index optimization • Building indexes in parallel to running system • Automated monitoring, suspension, and recovery • Media Booking added • Unmediated ISO Compliant ILL module added (16/15.2S) • Normalized tables for statistics (SQL queries) • New EDI architecture using XML to EDI converters
ALEPH Version 16 • Enhancements to Digital Repository within Aleph • Union Catalog and Union View enhancements • X-Server enhancements including telnet style text interface to OPAC using X-Server as backend • Multiple Time Zones on one server (16/15.2S) • Non IP-based identification of terminals (16/15.2S) • FERPA - Identification and Address update restrictions (16/15.2S) • ICAU and NAAUG enhancements from 2001
