  2. ENSURE PERSONAL SAFETY SAFETY ENSURE PERSONAL This is the most important step. Leave the building calmly and quickly. Move away from the area to a safe location. It is important to put some distance between yourself and the sprinkler to avoid being directly exposed to the deluge of water. If it is safe to do so, try to turn off any electrical equipment or appliances in the vicinity.
