Last year 84 one-day clean-up actions were organized in Asia, Africa, North America, South America and Europe, over 67,000 tons of waste being collected. Over 650,000 volunteers took part in the first three editions in Romania, collecting 1.6 million bags of waste.

  3. The National Clean-up Day has become a tradition in Romania, bringing together authorities, companies, NGOs, media representatives, public persons and volunteers in order to organize clean-ups throughout the country for one day. This year’s strategic goal is to hike the share of recycled waste to 40 per cent of the number of collected bags, up from 35 per cent in 2012, 26 per cent in 2011 and 17 per cent in 2010.
