  2. 1. Human As part of Ecosystem • Human >>part of Ecosystem>>human is exposed to Environment component

  3. 2. Hazard in Human Ecosystem • Not every environment components are useful • Environmental exposure The exposure to potentially harmful chemical, physical, or biological agents in the environment or to environmental factors that may include ionizing radiation, pathogenicorganisms, or toxicchemicals.

  4. 3. Environment and Health

  5. 6. Prospect of Health Status • As much as 24% of global disease is caused by environmental exposures which can be averted. • The report further estimates that more than 33% of disease in children under the age of 5 is caused by environmental exposures. • Preventing environmental risk could save as many as four million lives a year in children alone, mostly in developing countries.

  6. 7. Environmental Exposure and Children • Children are constantly growing. They breathe more air, consume more food, and drink more water than adults do, in proportion to their weight. • Children's central nervous, immune, reproductive, and digestive systems are still developing. At certain early stages of development, exposure to environmental toxicants can lead to irreversible damage.

  7. 7. Environmental Exposure and Children • Children behave differently from adults and have different patterns of exposure. Young children crawl on the ground where they can be exposed to dust and chemicals that accumulate on floors and soils. • Children have little control over their environment. Unlike adults, they may be both unaware of risks and unable to make choices to protect their health.

  8. 7 Actions to control Environment Exposure • Keep them out of the surrounding smoking outside, door mat, not using footwear from outside • Reduce gaseous and volatile exposure via adequate ventilation usage of exhaust fans if necessary • Use less toxic material find less toxic alternative or method such as cleaning products • Frequent washing with clean water wash hands, toys, vegetables, fruits, and furnitures

  9. 7 Actions to control Environment Exposure • Don’t use unnecessary products ask yourself do you really need those such as air fresheners, beauty care products, and others? • If you decide to use hazardous materials, keep kids away put them in locked cabinet and teach kids about the hazards. • Keep the home and surrounding from problems check the safety of your home before the problems is getting hard to control and try to check the cleanliness of wells and trace any harms regularly.
