Our Purpose • Building Rock Solid Skills & Character, Player by Player, Community by Community • Our Mission: Teach basketball skills and build character through sports • Our Goal: Provide a positive and educational sport experience for all youths from all walks of life. Enhance the development of youth through sports in character building skills related to self-esteem, self-respect and respect for others • Our Philosophy: Emphasize contributing characteristics for success in both sports and in life • Our Program: Utilize effective/proven programs to develop both technical skills and personal skills which will benefit youth for a lifetime • Our Footprint: Focused on Baton Rouge, with a vision to expand to other key communities • Our Need: Expand our program, immediately, to Mid-City, inner-city neighborhood children, using basketball to start them on their way to a Rock Solid foundation for life

BKBA Team Bios • COACH BROCK KANTROW  • At 5, he was a member of the first Tiger Tot’s basketball team and performed at half-time of LSU games and professional games around the country.  • Kantrow was hired at the age of 23 at Loyola College Prep, becoming the youngest head basketball coach in Louisiana. • Kantrow left Loyola for Tulane, where he helped guide the Green Wave to a 20-11 record and the Conference USA National Division crown under Coach Perry Clark.  • Kantrow followed Coach Clark to the University of Miami (FL), to be an assistant coach for three seasons. • Kantrow helped lead the Hurricanes to a 40-21 (.656) record and two consecutive postseason appearances. • Kantrow was hired as the head men’s basketball coach at St. Mary’s College of Maryland on June 13, 2003. In his first season on the bench at SMCM, Kantrow was recognized by his coaching peers as the 2004 CAC Coach of the Year.

Collis Temple Jr.- Owner Executive Director Harmony Center, Inc. • Collis B. Temple, Jr. graduated from Louisiana State University with a Bachelor’s degree in 1974 and a Master’s degree in 1979. A three year letterman on the LSU Basketball team, Temple also earned All-SEC and Academic All-SEC honors and was the university’s first African-American basketball player. From 1974-1976, he played professional basketball with the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs and Seattle Supersonics. • A native of Kentwood, LA, Temple is the owner and Executive Director of Harmony Center, Inc., a system of residential health and mental health facilities serving foster children, developmentally disabled and adjudicated youth and adults. Caring for over 300 people, Harmony Center has operated for more than 32 years, employing over 2,000 people.
