  2. Goals • elimination of the offending microorganism and its source • provision of hemodynamic and respiratory support

  3. Elimination of causative agent • Drainage of the infection of focally infected site • Empherictheraphy while waiting for the result of blood culture and sensitivity • Use broadspectrum antibiotic ampicillini.v • After blood culture and sensitivity, use specific antibiotics sensitive to the causative agent • Use vancomycin if methicillin resistant

  4. Hemodynamic support • Administration of i.v fluids • FFP in severe cases • Inotropics in severe hypotension

  5. Respiratory support • Administration of oxygen in patients with respiratory distress • If oxygen saturation is still low despite administration of oxygen, intubatethe patient
