Local Science Assessment Features • Administered twice per year. Fall is formative and spring is summative. • Data due Dec 16th and April 15th. • Elementary once per year.
Teacher Support Data Collected • 1 – Highly supported by the teacher. Much prompting and feedback. • 3 – Moderately supported by the teacher. Some feedback. • 5 – Independent student work.
Cooperative Approach Data Collected • 1 Whole class. • 3 Small team. • 5 Individualized
Individual Accountability • Students write individual research reports. • Written at school. • Not written in teams.

Student Work Samples • Five samples sent in at each assessment completion time. • Samples are used at in-services to calibrate scoring and to design instructional improvement.
