Sincerity (Ihlas) Primary importance Attendance and participation in religion activity was shown to be correlated to some personal benefit. Physical and/or spiritual. Ustad’s principle of “terk-iterk” seems so crucial. “To leave what you have already left” or “To sacrifice what you have already sacrificed”.
Findings No correlation between professionals and religion. High correlation between worldly success/individual qualities and religious activity. No positive correlation between age and religion.
Discussions • Sacrifice: • Based on a reciprocal relationship. • Showed that certainty lowered sacrifice. • Lesson: If you sacrifice with the expectation of receiving something back, you will lower the quantity of your sacrifice if you don’t receive what you had expected. • Allah • Group • Work • Family
