PMA32 PMA32 PMA32 PMA32 OADM PMA32 – Overview • PMA-32 is a 32 wavelengths DWDM add drop multiplexer • It is designed for metro-regional ring topologies • Individual spans of up to 80 km (up to 10 spans) • Up to 64 (32 west, 32 east) tributary ports • 1+1 protection
PMA32 – Features • PMA-32 uses 100 GHz spaced DWDM RX and TX line interfaces on single mode fiber • It multiplexes/demultiplexes up to 32 optical channels in the range between 192.1 THz (1560 nm) and 195.2 THz (1535 nm) • A 33th wavelength (SCh-Oh, Supervisory Channel, 1510 nm) carries Section Overheads in a 2Mbps channel. • SCh-Oh provides node to node communication, monitoring and remote configuration • Supported tributary interfaces: • 155 Mbps (STM-1/OC-3) • 622 Mbps (STM-4/OC-12) • 1.25 Mbps (Gigabit Ethernet) • 2.5 Gbps (STM-16/OC-48) • 10 Gbps (STM-64/OC-192)
