  1. Tips to Use Magic Desks Correctly! Copenhagen, DK, June 13, 2017- So after considering all the great benefits of sit stand desks, your office has finally decided to install these at the workstations. That is indeed good news. You probably are quite excited to get started with doing work on these interestingly styled desks. After all you have heard about all the health benefits that working on height adjustable desks entails. But that is not the complete picture. Merely installing these desks will not magically relieve your back stiffness, lower body tightness, incorrect posture and other health problems that are related to sitting for long hours. You also need to learn how to use sit stand desks correctly in a way that supports your health. Here are some quick tips for how to work the right way using height adjustable desks: # You have been taught over and over about the evils of continuous sitting. But that doesn’t mean that you spend your whole say standing instead! Standing for excessively long periods can affect your lower back and leg muscles. It can lead to unnecessary discomfort and fatigue. Tip: Be mindful to alternate between sitting and standing at regular interval, say every 1/2 hour to 1 hour. # Just because now you are using sit stand desks, don’t think about doing away with the breaks from work. You should still take breaks to stretch a little, give your eyes a little rest and refresh your mind. Tip: If taking breaks doesn’t come naturally to you, make a conscious effort to remind yourself for the same. Simply setting up a mobile alarm or reminder will do the job. # Bad postures are not just limited to the sitting. If your desk is not adjusted to a proper height, you’ll find yourself working on the computer with a slouched neck and back. Needless to say this sort of hunching for long periods of time is bad! Tip: Adjust your desk to a height such that the computer screen meets your eye level. Stand up straight with your head, neck, trunk and legs in a vertical line. Wear comfortable footwear that make it easy for you to stand. # If your office has a hard floor surface then standing can put too much pressure on your feet, even causing blood to pool in the feet. Tip: Get an anti-fatigue mat. The soft surface of the mat offers nice cushioning for the feet. Also the mat encourages little feet movements to help with proper blood circulation. # Standing is no fun if you remain static the whole time. You’ll soon get tired and bored. Try making your standing a little more dynamic. Tip: During your standing posture, feel free to make any little movements that feel nice and come naturally. Maybe do some neck stretches, shoulder rolls, wrist rotations or even a standing spinal twist!
