The fourth annual Conquer Cancer Day was held at Fenway Park on Saturday, August 2nd as the Boston Red Sox hosted the Oakland Athletics. During the pre-game ceremonies, The Wellness Community conducted a home plate ceremony. Steven Cantor Skygivers, Inc. focuses on the early detection of cancer and was on hand at Fenway Park for Conquer Cancer Day. As a fellow cancer survivor and because of Steve Cantor’s involvement and commitment to the early detection of cancer he was initially contacted and invited to throw out the first pitch of the game, but he opted to have someone else do the honors. Joey Kramer of Aerosmith was the enlisted to throw out the first pitch that evening.
Boston Red Sox infielder Kevin Youkilis hit two home runs that evening, Steven Cantor Skygivers, Inc. was one of the fortunate few to catch one of those home runs while he was sitting in the Big Green Monster section at Fenway Park.
