Adding Objective data provide opportunities for improvement in the three key areas • Safe Jobs • Better job descriptions • Ergonomic changes to reduce stressors and risk • Qualified Workers • Improved return to work process • Physical qualification of new hires and potential transfers • Safe Work Practices • Employee training on cumulative trauma disorders
Functional Job Descriptions (FJDs) identify physical stressors and are essential for effective return to work and hiring/placement decisions • Identify ergonomic modifications that can reduce physical stressors • Provide one-half the input for return to work and hiring/placement decisions • Establish the foundation for a systematic ergonomic program that will meet the proposed OSHA ergonomic guidelines
