Is there water in the pot? • Take a community that has conditions for developing a health project. • See if there is interest for the project (BE-RO). • See if there are enough resources for a health initiative (people, time, means for action). • Determine what will mobilize all resources (what the community needs).
Slowly add ingredients • Give information about the project. • Answer people’s questions. • Make local visits. Invite them at trainings. • Create a vision of possible developments. • Help them attract resources for action.
Let it cook! • Give people time to make things happen. • Leave it up to them to decide when and how will they make the first step. • Be patient, stay positive.
Stir and serve! • Appreciate it when people decide to take action. • Support them step-by-step. • Keep things going.
If we agree on something now, that doesn’t mean we can’t be creative about it later. • We fulfill our promises, only we take time with it. • And if you decide to write us an email, you won’t even know we read it.
Every agreement is like a building – it demands heavy lifting and it’s there to stay. • Once they’ve promised something, they won’t let you get away with it. • Don’t write them a email if you don’t want an answer right the way. They will expect the same from you.
Helping a partner in difficulty will turn him into a reliable, strong equal. • We face different challenges, but we all are part of the solution. • We don’t have to settle for “stone soup”, together we can make a better one.
