  2. WHAT IS A HIGH RISK WORK LICENCE? High Risk Work Licence is required to perform certain type of work where the risk is associated with the work. High risk work includes dogging, rigging, and operating forklifts, cranes, elevated work platforms etc. To operate such kind of heavy vehicles you need a valid high risk work licence from SafeWork NSW. High risk licences are valid for 5 years and nationally recognised within Australia. If you have a high risk work licence then you can work anywhere in Australia as well as some parts in the New Zealand. TYPE OF HIGH RISK WORK LICENCE The different type of high risk work licence are: 1.  Vehicle Loading Crane Licence 2.  Forklift Training Licence 3.  Scissor Lift Licence 4.  EWP Licence 5.  Dogging and Rigging Licence 6.  Scaffolding Licence 7.  Reach Stacker Licence 8.  Pressure Equipment Licence So if you want to operate any of the above high power vehicle then you have to pass the basic training and assessment course. After passing the required course you can apply for high risk work licence.

  3. HOW DO I OBTAIN A HIGH RISK WORK LICENCE? In order to obtain a high risk work licence, you need to get trained from the recognised training organisation. On completion of your training and assessment, you'll be able to lodge an application for the licence. Your licence application should be lodge within 60 days of passing the basic training and assessment course.  BASIC REQUIREMENTS TO OBTAIN A LICENCE To be eligible to apply for any kind of licence whether it is EWP Licence or Dogging Course you must: 1.  be of 18 years of age or more 2.  must be competent to work at heights 3.  be carry out the work in a proper way 4.  pass the basic training course

As per Work Health and Safety regulations it is an offence to perform or carryout the high risk work without a licence.  The person should be licenced from a valid authority. The licence ensures that the person who is carrying out the certain work is competent and know the safety concerns at the workplace.  The High Risk Work Licence System presently provides for 30 classes of high risk work, divided into 5 categories.
