  1. 5 Steps to Cleaning Black Lacquer KitchenCabinets Black lacquered cabinets can give your kitchens an edgy and modern look. What’s even better is maintaining them isn’t that challenging. If you have black kitchen cabinets, here’s how to clean them and maintain their strikingelegance. Dusting This part is crucial because if done carelessly, you might ruin the topcoat. To avoid damaging the coat of your black lacquer kitchen cabinets, always dust them using a soft dry cloth such as microfiber dusting sponges or a super-soft old cotton t-shirt. Be careful not to scratch thesurface. Use warm water when wiping thendown After dusting, wet the cloth in some warm water, wring the excess and get down to business. Make sure you follow the grain when wiping down the cabinet surface this way, you don’t damage the coat. After wiping it clean, dry any excess water with another clean microfibercloth. Soap-wipe You don’t need a lot of detergent to clean dark lacquered kitchen cabinets. However, it is still crucial to use a bit of it while cleaning them to help remove any grease or grime. Lacquer is very sensitive, so ensure you use mild oil-based soaps and a damp cloth to clean any smudges off thecabinets. Spirit-wipe The rings caused by wet plates and water glasses can be quite an eyesore; however, they are not permanent. To remove them, soak a cloth in mineral spirit or a paste of baking soda and mineral oil and give the cabinets a clean wipe. Polish Kitchen cabinets from Torontomanufactures are known to have a high-gloss or a satin finish. This finish protects your cabinets from moisture and lasts a very long time, but it might need a retouch here and there. Only polish your cabinets if they have a glossy finish and if it’s necessary. Spray a lacquer-safe polish lightly on a cloth and gently wipe with the grain. You only need little water, soap, soft cloth, and mineral spirits to buff your lacquered cabinets to a clean finish.
