  1. Memory Loss is Linked to Aging

  2. Aging can unfortunately lead to health problems. It is found that people overlook these problems and this causes things to get worse with the time. Memory loss is among these issues. Several studies have shown that the human brain ages like the rest of our body. Hence, at age 20, your brain starts losing its cells. But at that age, memory loss and aging should not really bother you much. Memory loss and aging is a long & slow process. In fact for many, both memory loss and aging do not even go together!

  3. What Leads To Memory Loss? You will easily find a number of people who are already in their 60s and 70s with a very good memory.  On the contrary, there are young people who are still in their early twenties experiencing memory loss. So what causes this? To understand this, you need to know that there are a number of reasons why people lose their memory. Secondly, the possible cause of memory loss can be a head injury and stroke. When severe head trauma affects the brain, there are good chances that it leads to temporary or even permanent memory loss. You will find people who suffer from severe head injuries and deal with temporary or complete amnesia. The only good thing is that when treated properly, the amnesia sufferers (after an accident) eventually regain their memory. You might have confronted people who abuse drugs and alcohol, then later in life suffer from memory loss significantly. Drug and alcohol abuse can severely affect the brain and even cause severe brain damage. Many young people are more at risk of brain damage due to its excessive use.

  4. Are Your Memory Problems Serious? One thing you need to understand is that memory loss and aging happens gradually. With growing age, it is normal for you to forget names and faces randomly. But when you start to forget things you have done just a few minutes ago or when you start feeling that you tend to forget your regular routines, you may need some help. Yes, memory loss is more common among the elderly. But it can be treated and prevented, altogether!
