Founder’s profile Mohammed Fawaz TC, 21 aged young man, hailing from Chaliyamin Kozhikode District in Kerala. Completed my UG, Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) from Farook College, Kozhikode. Found entrepreneurial taste inside me at the earlier stage itself. It may be because of the genetic inheritance, as my father is a businessman, and as well as, my grandfather is VKC MammedKoya who is founder & chairman of VKC company which is the leading footwear manufacturer in India.
Pain Point that I address: I started selling fresh & ready to eat snacks at my age of 18. I used to sell traditional snacks like kallummakkayanirachath (stuffed mussels), unnakkaya (stuffed banana) and etc which are popular in Malabar region to bakeries, family friends and etc. Some of my customers asked to provide them snacks to gift their families or friends residing far from Kozhikode or outside India. Such food stuffs decay fast and it became a tough process. Freezing is a method, but faced huge difficulty in maintaining it.
Value Proposition Every region has it’s own traditional snacks like Malabar region have. It have unique taste & acceptance among people. Especially, people residing far from their native place have a unrelenting desire to get it. Besides, modern generation kitchen makers are facing short of time. They highly prefer ready to cook food stuffs in such cases.
Solution Technology is the solution. Retort technology: preserving the food stuffs without adding any kind of chemicals & ensuring no any loss of nutrients. The food can be preserved and stored up to 1 year in normal room temperature, using this technology.
How I can build this ventue? I am passionate in food and doing business. I am behind this idea for last 3 years. Was studying, enquiring, testing and seeking information from experts and etc. I have a team with me who are my best friends. Hence I believe that, we can do great things together.
What I expect from NSRCEL? I have lack of experience, knowledge & vast business network. I hardly wanted mentoring from NSRCEL.
Progression in my idea: Developed & finalised products: RTC Stuffed mussels and mussel meats. Conducted market study for getting customer reviews by selling 200 packets in an expo held at Kozhikode. Got positive review from customers and we got calls for repeated consumptions. Currently, doing market study & in work of preparing a business plan.
