Suicides and school • Gay and lesbian teens are two to three times more likely to commit teen suicide compared to other youths. • About 30% of all completed suicides have been related to sexual identity crisis. • Students who are LGBT are five times as more likely to miss school because they feel unsafe after being bullied for their sexual orientation. • About 28% out of those groups feel forced to drop out of school because of altogether.

LGBT bullying • 90% of LGBT students have been harassed or assaulted. • LGBT students are three times as likely as non-LGBT students to say they do not feel safe at school. (22% versus 7%) • About 1/3 of LGB students skipped a day of school in the past month because of feeling unsafe. • LGBT youth in rural communities and those with lower adult education attainment face particularly hostile school climates. • Teens that identify as LBG are bullied two to three times more than heterosexuals.

British statistics • 65% of young LGBT students experience homophobic bullying in Britain's schools. • 97% of gay pupils here derogatory phrases.at • Half of young lesbian and gay people feel that it is hard for people like them to be accepted at school. • 98% of gay pupils here “that’s so gay” or “you’re so gay” at school. • Over a third of young LGBT pupils do not like going to school. • Pupils who have experienced homophobic bullying are 44% more likely to feel this (compared to those who have not been bullied)
