  1. Take out your Homework! • 1. Take a magazine from the LANDSCAPE MAGAZINE BOX. • Find 3 landscape images that you will look at to paint your watercolor landscape. • Put them in your landscape pocket. (Make one) • Watercolor Artist • Find two images: • One watercolor landscape • One abstract watercolor • Glue in • Write artist’s name

  2. If you are taking another ART class: • Bring your Registration sheet up to me to sign that you took Art 2. • If you took Art 1, I’ll sign for PHOTO, GRAPHICS, ART 3, CLAY, etc… • Let’s make a list of students that are signing up for ART 3.

  3. Objective: You will define landscape and analyze steps to create one in order to apply it to your own watercolor landscape. DRILL: What is a landscape? What do you think the steps for painting a landscape are?

  4. A landscape is… • Landscape comprises the visible features of an area of land, including the physical elements of landforms, water bodies such as rivers, lakes and the sea, living elements of land cover including indigenous vegetation, human elements including land uses, buildings and structures, and transitory elements such as lighting and weather conditions.

  5. Steps for painting a watercolor landscape: 1. Find images to look at • Draw a thumbnail sketch. • Draw on watercolor paper • Paint background parts leaving objects white. • Paint objects • Add fine brush detail.

  6. Watercolor Landscape Requirements • Had a background, middle ground, foreground. • Has a sky-has landscape qualities- outdoors • Look at 3 different images, draw first. • Use watercolor techniques that you learned. • Has detail with small brush.

  7. Draw 1-2 Thumbnail sketches by looking at images. Required to draw it In sketchbook first. Optional to practice painting n sketchbook first.

  11. Sketch for your watercolor landscape Objective: You will use parts of 3 or more images to create a sketch for your watercolor landscape. DRILL: • Take out your images. • Draw a sketch. • Make sure there is depth and at least one detailed object. • This is due at the end of class. Take advantage of your time.
