  2. Definition of Filtration Efficiency Filter specs: definition • For BOSCH FIE filtration efficiency is defined according to the pre-standard ISO/TR 13353:1994. Required filtration efficiency depends on application, expected fuel contamination and required life time (see following slides). For specific values see corresponding TCI • In the meantime the standard ISO/TS 13353:2002 has become valid. Main difference to the pre-standard is the calibration procedure • (ISO 11 171 instead ISO 4402). This requires an adaptation of the present values. The correlation is presently under preparation. • The International Standard Organization is working on a new multi-pass method (ISO/DIS 19438) which should substitute ISO/TS 13353 in a few years RBCP/SNS-Va

  4. Filter specification issue • TCD’s KM 45 110 004_en KM 45 110 005 and KM 45 110 007 describe Bosch requirements for fuel filter, water trap and allowed fuels for CR systems (CRS) • Bosch offers Fuel filters for PC/LD-applications which fulfill DS-requirements for filtration in both normal and severe conditions • Customers should be advised to use only the fuel filter with right specifications acc. to DS-requirements • Protection of the injection system only possible by means of a suitable filter system RBCP/SNS-Va
