WELCOME TO AP HUG !. Mrs. Jacquez Room 14. MY BACKGROUND. Graduated in 1978 from Capistrano Valley High School , Mission Viejo. Went to the Computer Learning Center in Anaheim, 1982. Before I became a teacher I worked for Rockwell International as a Computer Analyst for 8 years.

  1. WELCOME TO AP HUG! Mrs. Jacquez Room 14

  2. MY BACKGROUND • Graduated in 1978 from Capistrano Valley High School, Mission Viejo. Went to the Computer Learning Center in Anaheim, 1982. • Before I became a teacher I worked for Rockwell International as a Computer Analyst for 8 years.

  3. COLLEGE CAREER • I graduated in 1989 from Golden West College in Huntington Beach, CA with my A.S. degree. • I transferred to Fresno State in 1990, graduating in 1992 with a B.A. in History and a minor in Geography. • It took me 12 years to attain my B.A. degree due to working full-time at Rockwell. • Other schools I have attended, UCLA, Fresno Pacific and University Nevada@ Reno, Saddleback College, Cerritos College, Fresno City College, University of San Diego.

  4. Teaching Career • The only school I have worked at is EDISON! • I started in the 1994-1995 school year, teaching 5 sections of Sociology For Living. • After 3 years I taught MWH fulltime. • In 2000-2001 school year I started AP Human Geography in the district and have taught it 11 years now. • The classes I have taught include, SFL, MWH, AP HUG, CA Geography, and PE.

  5. COMMUNITY SERVICE • I am a volunteer for the American Cancer Society, having been the Event Chair for the 2007 and 2008 Relay For Life event . • I also started the very successful Edison SWAT Relay team in 2005. We have won trophies every year!

  6. Extra - Curricular • During my tenure at Edison I have: • Coached JV girls soccer, 2 years • Co – Advisor for Edison SWAT club • Site Tech Coordinator, 2 years • Varsity Boys Cross Country coach, 4 years • Varsity Girls Lacrosse coach, 2 years • Excellence in Education award (2x) • Tiger Academy teacher

  7. HOBBIES • I have been a competitive speed walker for about 13 years. I held a course record for the 2-mile Fathers Day Race downtown. • 39th Annual • FATHER'S DAY RUN & WALK Downtown - Fresno, • Sunday June 19, 2005 • *** OFFICIAL RESULTS - 2-Mile WALK *** • Course Record: 1998 Tom Williams (40-59) 17:44, Fresno • NEW Course Record: 2005 • Lauren Jacquez (40-59) 21:50, Fresno • That record was broken in 2011! I have completed three ½ marathons.

  11. Other Tidbits • I like to collect rocks. I have an international rock collection. Some places I have rocks from: • Russia, Japan, Cambodia, Mexico, Ireland, Brazil, France, USA, Australia, Jerusalem, Egypt • Lance Armstrong is my hero! • U2 is my favorite band. 
