Key Points… • A drawing room is intended as a place where a hostess may entertain her friends • Plenty of sunshine • Use mirrors as decorative panels • Should have an open fireplace • It should not be cluttered by personal things yet flowers, porcelains, collection of fans, and old French prints are acceptable. • No matter how large the room, keep it intimate in spirit • No isolated chairs • plenty of chairs and sofas, and a few small tables to hold lights and flowers • Must have a writing desk for those who would like to write a note, but also functions as decoration • Another good place for a piano is a sort of alcove or small room opening from the large living or drawing room where the piano and a few chairs may be placed
